About Our Clinic
Practice history
On 25 March 2024 Bedford Medical Clinic moved to 913 South Road, Clarence Gardens.
Bedford Medical Clinic was established in 1955 by founding doctors Upsdell and Hughes.
Originally it was a rural practice operating at Blackwood, Ashford and Glenelg. Bedford has subsequently become a suburban practice. Drs Steward and Harrison's practice then merged with Bedford in 1998.
Past long-standing doctors within the clinic were Dr Fernando, Dr Wedd, Dr Leeder, Dr McMillan, Dr Kubicek, Dr Ludero, Dr Brailey, Dr Grigg, Dr Partridge, Dr Worley, Dr Jamieson and Dr Downey. Present long-standing doctors within the clinic are Dr Harrison, Dr Ebert and Dr Wauchope.
In June 2008, Bedford Medical Clinic relocated to Bellevue Heights, where it operated for 15 months. In October 2009, the clinic returned to South Road, moving into a new facility at 1284 South Road, Tonsley (formerly part of the Mitsubishi site in Clovelly Park). This location served the clinic until the site was acquired by the Government as part of the Torrens to Darlington South Road project. As a result, the clinic relocated once again in March 2024 to its current premises at 913 South Road, Clarence Gardens.
Special interests of the practice have included computerised mole checks, advanced skin cancer treatments, minor surgery, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, geriatrics and Travel Medicine.
